Yes, the ship is on the smaller side, but it just proves that, sometimes, great things come in tiny packages. Like most of its sister vessels, Symphony of the Seas has three pool areas, a giant waterslide complex, rock climbing walls, surfing simulators, a miniature golf course and even an ice skating rink. As such, expect that same classic elegance and cruising tradition that you might experience on these three sister ships, just with a few modern updates. Another new cruise ship from the cruise line, Utopia of the Seas is in a different class than Icon of the Seas, and it’s not going to be as large — but it is still pretty amazing (and what else would you expect from Royal Caribbean?).
In all, the ship offers eight neighborhoods, as Royal Caribbean calls distinct areas of its bigger ships themed around specific activities. Five are new to Icon, and three are returning from the line's last series of giant ships, the five-vessel Oasis Class. Cruising fans are particularly excited about the arrival of Icon of the Seas as it will mark the first time a cruise line has launched a new class of ship that will eclipse all others in size and amenities in 15 years.
